Rebuilding Strength and Mindset: My Postpartum Journey in Longmont, CO

As a mom of two and a personal trainer in Longmont, Colorado, I’m deep in my own postpartum journey—regaining strength, relearning my body, and rebuilding confidence after baby number two. I’m also an entrepreneur, building a hybrid and virtual personal training business to help women like me find confidence, strength, and limitlessness. None of this is small. It’s a daily practice of growth, resilience, and intention.

A Season of Strength and Self-Discovery

At 34, I know who I am and what I want. My time is precious. I’m focused on creating a life I love—one filled with purpose, financial stability, and service to others. But like most moms, I also know how heavy life can feel. Between politics, finances, raising young kids, and trying to take care of myself, there’s always doubt, fear, and setbacks.

My goal isn’t perfection. It’s refusing to limit myself. It’s remembering that in a world where people do incredible things every day—I’m one of them. I’ve never wanted to be put in a box, and I will always have a hyphen. Mom-Educator-Core Corrective Specialist-Runner-Cycler-Personal Trainer-Sister-Daughter-Wife-Community Member…my list can go on and on and on. So can yours.

Mindset Work That Keeps Me Grounded

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working intentionally on my mindset. I meditate daily using Peloton’s 10-minute meditations, especially the Metta (Love and Kindness) practice. Meditation helps me listen to my thoughts, shift them, and rewrite my inner narrative. Anything that doesn’t serve me has to go.

Through meditation, I visualize my future. I sit with who I am, where I’m going, and who I want to be. I allow myself to feel discomfort, open new neural pathways, and create the life I want from the inside out.

Vision Boards & Visualization

One of my favorite rituals is creating vision boards using Pinterest and Canva. I make them my phone background—so I see my goals, affirmations, and inspirations every day.

My current reminders:

  • “How are my actions writing my story?”

  • “Retrain your mind 1000x a day.”

  • “Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.”

It’s a simple daily nudge to stay focused on what matters.

Restorative Movement & Nervous System Health

I’ve also added restorative yoga into my evenings (usually through Peloton) and often include my toddler—it’s become part of our wind-down routine. As someone prone to anxiety and stress, I naturally gravitate toward intense workouts, but learning to rest has been just as important as learning to lift.

Movement isn’t just about strength—it’s about nervous system regulation. It’s about learning when to push and when to pause.

What I Teach My Clients in Longmont

These mindset and lifestyle tools are the same ones I share with the women I train here in Longmont, CO. Most of my clients are busy moms in their 30s and 40s who want to lose weight, gain strength, and feel like themselves again. They’re juggling work, kids, and constant information overload about how to “be healthy.”

They come to me for a reset—an opportunity to build strength, consistency, and confidence through fitness, nutrition, and mindset coaching. Because fitness alone won’t take you far; the real transformation comes from aligning body, mind, and environment.

7 Mindset Shifts That Change Everything

  1. Mood Follows Action. Motivation doesn’t come first—action does. Schedule your workouts, plan your meals, and let momentum build.

  2. Your Rehearsal Becomes Your Reality. Visualize your success. Your brain believes what you tell it—make your story empowering.

  3. Name Your Emotions to Tame Them. Big feelings last 90 seconds. Label them, breathe, and let them pass without letting them define you.

  4. Practice Daily Gratitude. Gratitude boosts dopamine and serotonin—natural mood stabilizers. List five people, five things, and five experiences you’re grateful for.

  5. Thoughts Are Not Facts. Observe your thoughts. Don’t believe everything your brain says.

  6. Environment Over Willpower. Set your surroundings up for success—fill your kitchen with nourishing foods, curate uplifting media, and spend time with supportive people.

  7. Relationships Thrive on Positivity. For every one negative interaction, build five positive ones. Say thank you, hug longer, and reconnect often.

The Feminist Fitness Mindset

As a feminist trainer and mom, I believe true strength isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, mental, and communal. I’m raising two boys who will understand that emotional intelligence and kindness are strength, not weakness.

When we care for ourselves—through movement, rest, reflection, and gratitude—we model that same care for our children.

Change Your Mind, Change Your Life

If you’re a mom in Longmont, Colorado, ready to feel strong again, reduce stress, and reclaim your body and mindset, this is your sign. You don’t need more hustle. You need the right tools, support, and mindset to build a sustainable, empowered lifestyle.

Change your mind, change your life—and if you’re ready to start, I’d love to guide you.
